  1. A history lesson.  The story starts back in the day of the Flintstones, moves through the Tudor period and then on towards the era of Churchill's War and beyond to our intergalactic future.  They are fighting over the horn, as it evolves from bone to a highly refined instrument.  And of course the ever present thorn in their side is the pernicious percussionist, who leads them a merry dance and whose beat they cannot resist so they lead a hue and cry.
